More than 220 essential roles, including mayors, deputy mayors, standing committee chairmen, and leaders of the ruling party will be established.

Reports indicate that the announcements will be made by Wednesday.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Chief Minister’s residence, where decisions for each local body will be concluded. The meeting will be presided over by State BJP President C.R. Patil and will include Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, State Organisation General Secretary Ratnakar, and other members of the Parliamentary Board.

The BJP has shortlisted candidates based on their competency to manage responsibilities at different levels, ensuring robust leadership in municipal governance.

In the recent local body elections in Gujarat, conducted on February 16, the BJP experienced a resounding victory, reinforcing its dominance throughout the state.

The BJP took control of the Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC), winning 48 out of 60 seats. The Congress secured 11 seats, while an independent candidate achieved one seat.

In the municipal elections, the BJP claimed victory in 62 out of 68 municipalities, with the Congress managing to retain just one municipality, Salaya, in the Devbhumi Dwarka district.

This resulted in a notable defeat for the Congress, which had previously governed 12 municipalities. The BJP's success also extended to the taluka panchayats, winning all three—Gandhinagar, Kapadvanj, and Kathlal.

Across these panchayats, the BJP secured 55 of the 78 available seats, while the Congress won 17, and independents claimed six. Individually, the BJP won 1,341 out of 1,840 municipality seats, whereas the Congress achieved 252 seats.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made modest advancements with 27 seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) garnered 43 seats, and independents won 151 seats.
