Tripura CM Saha: BJP Essential for Tribal Development in TTAADC Regions
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Agartala, March 5 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, emphasized on Thursday that the upliftment of the Janajati (tribal) communities within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) is reliant on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking at a large gathering hosted by the BJP in Atharobhola, located in Gomati district, he stated that the electoral success of BJP candidates in the upcoming TTAADC elections is crucial for advancing development in tribal regions.
“Our vision is to construct a new Tripura alongside all the Janajatis,” Saha declared.
During the event, he welcomed 192 voters from 53 families who have decided to join the BJP.
Saha also mentioned his frequent visits to the Bagma Assembly constituency, noting that he has visited it more often than many other areas in the state.
“I just returned from Delhi a couple of days ago and went to Khumulwng yesterday. A significant rally took place there with our tribal brothers and sisters. The reverberations of that rally are already being felt in Khumulwng, as the tribal community has recognized their trust in the BJP,” he commented.
The Chief Minister pointed out that without the BJP at the helm in the TTAADC, progress for the people in these areas would be challenging.
“The BJP is synonymous with development. This party's sole focus is on progress. Every BJP worker commits to working from 6 a.m. to midnight, while other parties lack such dedication. They prioritize their own interests over community development,” he asserted.
Saha further explained that the BJP’s philosophy is to prioritize the nation and the state above individual or party interests.
“For them, it’s about self-interest first, while our motto is: state first, then the country, followed by the party, and lastly ourselves,” he articulated.
He also mentioned that the BJP's guiding light is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has championed the motto of “Na Khaunga, Na Khane Dunga” to combat corruption.
“We must adhere to the path inspired by the Prime Minister in our double-engine government. Every resource must be allocated for the people’s development. The BJP is committed to this goal,” he stated.
Discussing the political shift in Tripura, Saha noted that prior to 2018, many thought the communists would remain in power indefinitely.
“However, together with your support and under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the BJP has established a government in Tripura, ending 35 years of misrule. We have been governing for the past eight years, and no one can point to any instance of corruption during our tenure,” he claimed.
Saha further accused the previous administration of misleading the Janajati communities and fostering extremism.
“These communists orchestrated these issues during their rule to cling to power through terrorism,” he added.
The gathering also featured Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, BJP MLA Rampada Jamatia, Gomati district BJP President Sabita Nath, Mandal President Amar Jamatia, and other party officials.
