New Delhi, Sep 24 (NationPress) Rohan Gupta, spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), fiercely criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s claims regarding voter deletions, accusing him of shifting goalposts and resorting to groundless politics to mislead the electorate.

In response to Gandhi’s accusations against the Election Commission of India (ECI) for “vote theft,” Gupta asserted that the opposition's assertions have already been debunked. “The Congress held a press conference alleging that 6,018 votes were deleted in the Aland constituency of Karnataka, but later conceded it was merely an attempt. If no theft occurred, what’s the issue? This only illustrates that Congress is fabricating controversies in the absence of a genuine agenda,” Gupta stated to IANS.

He highlighted that the Election Commission has already addressed the alleged deletions. “Congress is currently in power in Karnataka. If they are serious, what is their CID doing? Why is there no evidence presented to the authorities?” he questioned.

Directly targeting Gandhi, the BJP spokesperson claimed that Congress is engaging in selective politics. “Initially, they highlighted the SIR issue in Bihar, then shifted to Karnataka, and now they are discussing vote theft on a national scale. Rahul Gandhi continually alters his goalposts. At a time when their own leaders make statements that seem to favor Pakistan, it is hypocritical for them to preach about trust and democracy,” Gupta asserted.

Regarding Bihar, he contended that the opposition is ensnared in appeasement politics. “Owaisi ji reached out to the Opposition expressing a willingness to collaborate, yet Congress and RJD never replied. Their ideological contradictions have been laid bare. Bihar will not vote based on caste or appeasement anymore, but on the development achieved under the NDA government. People will not revert to ‘jungle raj’,” he claimed.

In reaction to the Congress Working Committee meeting in Patna earlier that day, Gupta remarked that the grand old party is out of touch with reality. “No matter how hard they try, the issue of vote theft is nonexistent on the ground. Even Tejashwi Yadav appears to be distancing himself from Congress. The NDA will secure a decisive mandate in Bihar,” he concluded.

Point of View

It is essential to recognize the ongoing political dynamics between the BJP and Congress. This exchange exemplifies how both parties navigate public perception and accountability. As political narratives continue to shift, it is crucial for the public to seek transparency and evidence in all claims, ensuring that democratic processes are upheld.
