New Delhi, June 17 (NationPress) BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has launched a fierce attack on the Congress party, accusing it of disseminating misinformation while commending the Modi government's initiatives on national security and social justice, particularly in light of the recent caste census announcement.

In an interview with IANS on Tuesday, Chugh condemned the recent Pahalgam terror attack, asserting that the “nefarious conspiracy” orchestrated by Pakistan to undermine peace and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) was thwarted by the Indian military's decisive action during 'Operation Sindoor.'

He stated that the assault on unarmed civilians was clearly intended to disrupt tranquility, development, and the revival of tourism in the Union Territory.

“Our courageous armed forces have dismantled terror hideouts and neutralized the terror network. 'Operation Sindoor' has triumphantly thwarted Pakistan's objective of inciting communal strife and destabilizing the Valley,” he remarked.

Chugh expressed optimism about the resurgence of tourism in J&K, asserting that the region would soon reclaim its “full glory.”

He also emphasized the preparations underway for the annual Amarnath Yatra commencing on July 3, stating, “The administration is making all essential arrangements and will guarantee the safety and security of every pilgrim.”

Addressing the caste-based census, Chugh declared that the PM Narendra Modi-led government had taken a “clear and historic” initiative by opting to conduct it, asserting that this move would ensure fair representation for backward communities. He also launched a vehement critique of the Congress, labeling it a “factory of fake news.”

“The Congress persists in disseminating falsehoods; their assertions are entirely untrue and unfounded. Over the past 11 years, Prime Minister Modi has tirelessly advocated for OBCs, the impoverished, and other marginalized sectors of society. He conferred constitutional status to the OBC Commission — a landmark achievement,” Chugh stated.

He specifically targeted Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, accusing him of becoming “an expert in spreading fake news.” Referring to the Mandal Commission, Chugh reminded that the BJP had supported the V.P. Singh government’s implementation of reservations. “The BJP withdrew support only after our senior leader L.K. Advani’s Ram Rath Yatra was halted and he was arrested,” he explained.

He also pointed out the inconsistency in the Congress’ position on reservations. “Rahul Gandhi’s father, Rajiv Gandhi, openly opposed reservations for the underprivileged while addressing Parliament in 1990. This is documented and reveals the true nature of the Congress,” he added.

Point of View

It is crucial to approach sensitive political matters with an unbiased lens. The recent statements from BJP's Tarun Chugh highlight the ongoing political tensions in India, particularly surrounding national security and social justice. The implications of the caste census and the government's stance on terrorism in J&K are significant, requiring careful consideration of all viewpoints.
