Kolkata, Feb 14 (NationPress) In a shocking turn of events in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, a 36-year-old man was reportedly murdered, his body dismembered, and disposed of in a canal after being lured under the pretense of submitting documents for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Authorities confirmed on Saturday that a Booth Level Officer (BLO) and another individual have been taken into custody in relation to this heinous act, which unfolded in Baduria. The victim's remains were discovered late Friday night in a canal, following the interrogation of the suspects and extensive search efforts. However, the head of the victim has not yet been located.
The victim has been identified as Nasir Ali (36), a resident of Papila in Baduria.
