New Delhi, Oct 14 (NationPress) The Anti-Burglary Cell of South-West District Delhi Police has taken into custody a 20-year-old individual involved in a theft that occurred in the Kishangarh locality.
The suspect, named Nasir, hails from Laxmipur Basantpur in the Araria district of Bihar, and his apprehension was made possible through advanced technical surveillance. A mobile phone reported stolen was retrieved from him.
According to a statement released by the South-West District Police, the arrest was executed by a dedicated team led by Inspector Ram Kumar, overseeing the Anti-Burglary Cell, and included Sub-Inspector Bachchu Singh, Head Constable Kantilal, HC Vinod Kumar, HC Ajay Kumar, along with Constables Mahesh, Anshu, and Sanwariya. The operation was meticulously monitored by ACP Operations Vijay Pal Tomar.
The incident of theft was reported on June 30 at the Kishangarh police station. In line with E-FIR No. 80061622/25 registered under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the complainant, Narendra Singh, stated that a mobile phone was pilfered from his home during whitewashing work.
“On 30.06.2025, a burglary case under E-FIR no. 80061622/25 u/s 305 BNS was recorded at PS Kishangarh by the complainant Narendra Singh, regarding the theft of a mobile phone from his residence,” the police noted.
Through technical tracking, the suspect was pinpointed as Nasir, who had been temporarily residing in Motilal Nehru Camp near JNU, Delhi. On October 12, the police team successfully located and detained Nasir. During questioning, he admitted to the crime and disclosed that he had stolen the phone while working as a whitewash laborer at the complainant’s residence in Budh Vihar, Munirka Village.
“He was engaged in whitewashing homes. In June 2025, he performed whitewashing at Narender Singh's house... and stole a mobile phone, which he subsequently started using,” added the police statement.
The arrested individual and the recovered mobile phone have been forwarded to PS Kishangarh for further legal proceedings. This arrest has effectively resolved the case.
