New Delhi, Sep 11 (NationPress) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken into custody the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I of Delhi (West), EPFO, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1,50,000 from a complainant, according to an announcement made by the investigation agency on Thursday.

The official arrested on charges of corruption is identified as Jagdish Tambe, currently serving as the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I in Delhi (West), EPFO.

As reported by the CBI, the case was initiated on September 9, 2025.

“It was alleged that the accused, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, sought an illegal payment of ₹3,00,000 from the complainant to favorably resolve RDA proceedings against them,” stated the CBI in its press release.

“After negotiations, the accused Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I consented to accept a bribe of ₹1,50,000 from the complainant,” it further elaborated.

To apprehend the individual, the CBI set up a sting operation on September 10, catching the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I red-handed while soliciting and accepting the bribe of ₹1,50,000 from the complainant.

The aforementioned individual has been detained.
