The central agency announced on Tuesday that Sattar Khan was detained at Hyderabad International Airport on Monday while attempting to flee to Doha.
Sattar Khan, approximately 52 years old and employed as a driver, is accused of having taken his wife's life in the UAE back in 2013. Following the incident, he vanished and remained untraceable for over a decade, according to the CBI.
The CBI initiated a local prosecution case in April 2022 at the request of UAE authorities. It was reported that Sattar Khan murdered his wife on November 14, 2013, while he was working in the UAE. After committing the crime, he escaped to India, where he has been living incognito since.
