Kolkata, Dec 11 (NationPress) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has presented a probe report detailing approximately 3,000 individual complaints lodged against Shahjahan Sheikh, the suspended leader of the Trinamool Congress from Sandeshkhali, located in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, to the Calcutta High Court.

The primary allegations stem from assaults on officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and accompanying personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), which occurred outside his residence in Sandeshkhali last year, according to sources.

These attacks were initiated by Shahjahan’s associates during an attempted raid related to the agency's ongoing inquiry into the alleged multi-crore public distribution system (PDS) scam in West Bengal.

Additional complaints involve the unlawful seizure of land in Sandeshkhali, the illegal transformation of agricultural land into fish farms by forcefully introducing saline water, and the sexual exploitation of local women.

The CBI report also outlines evidence collected by its investigators that validates the accusations against Shahjahan in various cases. Furthermore, the progress report highlights Shahjahan's close associates who were actively engaged in orchestrating such illicit activities.

Shahjahan's name has come into the spotlight again following the tragic death of Satyajit Ghosh, the son of Bhola Ghosh, a vital witness against him, in a recent road accident. Satyajit was en route to court with his father to provide testimony.

The accident claimed the life of Shahnur Molla, the driver of the vehicle in which the witness and his son were traveling, while Bhola Ghosh narrowly escaped. The collision occurred on the Basanti Highway when a truck crashed into their car at high speed.

Both Bhola Ghosh and his elder son, Bidwajit Ghosh, suspect that this incident was not merely an accident but is rooted in a much deeper controversy.

Shahjahan currently remains in judicial custody facing multiple charges.
