New Delhi, March 13 (NationPress) The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) revealed on Thursday that students who are unable to take the Class 12 Hindi exams, scheduled for March 15, will be granted a chance to sit for a special examination at a later date. CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated, 'It has been brought to our attention that, while Holi will be celebrated on March 14 in most regions of the country, some festivities may extend into March 15.'

In light of the challenges some students might encounter, it has been decided that, although the Hindi exam will occur on 15.03.2025, those students who find it difficult to participate on that date may opt out. The CBSE notification explained, 'Such students will be provided with the opportunity to appear in a special exam alongside those who qualify for special examinations as per the Board’s policy, which includes students involved in National or International sports events.'

Significantly, the special examination is typically held after the regular exams, primarily for sports participants.

The Hindi Core (302)/Hindi Elective (002) exam is set for March 15.

The Class 10 and 12 board examinations conducted by CBSE began on February 15, with over 44 lakh students from around 8,000 schools both domestically and internationally participating in these exams.

Previously, the CBSE proposed implementing two board examinations for Class 10 students starting from the new academic year. This new model maintains the existing examination structure while allowing students a second chance to improve their scores. Students will have the option to retake exams in any number of subjects they choose.
