New Delhi, June 28 (NationPress) - As Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the inaugural ceremony of the year-long centenary celebrations commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj, members of the Jain community expressed their pride, stating that every government initiative mirrors the spirit of service inspired by the teachings of the Acharya.
In a conversation with IANS, Paramparacharya Acharya Shri Prajna Sagar Ji Maharaj commended the Prime Minister’s involvement, labeling it a deserving homage to a saint whose wisdom spans across communities.
“Vidyanand Ji Maharaj was an extraordinary figure of this age. His intellect served not just the Jain community but the entire society,” he commented.
Bhattaraka Swasti Shri Charukeerti Ji Maharaj from Karnataka underscored India’s timeless principles of non-violence and service, associating them with Jain philosophy and contemporary government welfare initiatives.
“For millennia, the world sought to silence violence with violence, yet India demonstrated the strength of non-violence. Our selfless spirit of service is philanthropic. Be it the PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, or free food grains for the underprivileged, every scheme signifies a commitment to aiding those at the bottom of society. No one should be left behind; all should advance together. This embodies Acharya Ji’s inspiration and dedication,” he elaborated.
Sanyam Jain expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister’s attendance at the event, calling it a moment of pride for the community.
“He has done remarkable work for the people. A commemorative postcard was also unveiled today. It fills us with pride that PM Modi was present. The entire globe is celebrating his birth anniversary today,” he remarked.
Anil Kumar Jain welcomed the Prime Minister’s heartfelt tribute.
