Kawardha (Chhattisgarh), Sep 23 (NationPress) In the wake of the new GST 2.0 implementation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 22, motorcycle dealerships in Kawardha city, Chhattisgarh, are experiencing an impressive increase in customer visits. The adjusted GST framework has significantly lowered two-wheeler prices, making them more budget-friendly and attracting a surge of buyers.
At the local outlets, motorcycles that were earlier listed at Rs 1.20 lakh are now available for approximately Rs 1.11 lakh due to the reduced GST rates. This immediate advantage has sparked widespread excitement among consumers, many of whom have publicly acknowledged their gratitude for the Prime Minister’s initiative.
One showroom patron, Himanshu Singh Thakur, expressed his appreciation for the government's decision to lower GST, indicating that this price reduction has made motorcycle ownership more attainable for middle-class households. He noted that the decrease in prices would motivate more individuals to upgrade their bikes.
In a conversation with IANS, Sunil Agrawal, manager of Saraswati Motors in Kawardha, noted that the response since the GST cut has been phenomenal. “Even farmers, who were previously reluctant due to financial limitations, are now stepping up to buy bikes. This change is a significant relief for them,” he mentioned.
He further explained that while the showroom usually welcomes 3 to 4 customers daily, this number skyrocketed to 25 customers in just one day following the GST reduction. “The adjustment of GST on motorcycles to 18 percent has noticeably shifted buyer attitudes,” the manager remarked. Dealers are hopeful that this trend will persist, benefiting both customers and the local economy.
With the introduction of GST 2.0, the automotive sector is optimistic about sustaining this momentum, while consumers relish the concrete benefits of lower taxes on vital purchases.
