Imphal, Sep 23 (NationPress) In a coordinated effort across several districts in Manipur, the Army along with other security agencies successfully apprehended nine hardened militants and seized 36 firearms, numerous Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), narcotics, and additional war-related materials, as reported by officials on Tuesday.
Defence Spokesman Lt Col Amit Shukla indicated that the Army and Assam Rifles, in conjunction with the Manipur Police, carried out a series of intelligence-led joint operations in seven districts: Tengnoupal, Thoubal, Imphal East, Tamenglong, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Chandel—spanning both the Imphal valley and the hilly terrains. These operations, executed over the last few days, resulted in the capture of nine members from various militant factions and the confiscation of 36 weapons, illicit drugs, and other military-grade supplies.
