Patna, Sep 23 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a total of 357 development projects amounting to Rs 1,198.86 crore at the designated site of the Lavkush Eco-Tourism Park in Valmikinagar, West Champaran district.
The initiatives comprise the inauguration of 237 schemes valued at Rs 197.36 crore, foundation stone laying for 114 schemes worth Rs 586.67 crore, and the foundation stone laying of six additional schemes announced during the Pragati Yatra, totaling Rs 414.83 crore.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also evaluated the proposed site for the Lavkush Eco-Tourism Park and engaged with Jeevika Didis, pensioners, and various beneficiaries of government programs at the Valmiki Auditorium complex.
Following the ceremony, Nitish Kumar addressed a large audience in Bettiah, becoming emotional as he reflected on his government’s developmental journey in West Champaran.
“You are all aware of my affection for West Champaran. I always start my tours from here. I hold this region close to my heart. In the past, people hesitated to venture out here even during the daytime. With our government in power, we have eliminated the threats of banditry. Today, Champaran has transformed, and I take great joy in that,” Nitish Kumar stated.
The Chief Minister highlighted significant accomplishments of his administration, including the appointment of over 500,000 teachers, establishment of multiple medical colleges, free provision of 125 units of electricity, expansion of old-age pensions, and creation of job opportunities for women.
He also pointed out that Bihar boasts the highest representation of women in police forces compared to any other state.
Nitish Kumar emphasized that his government has worked for the welfare of all communities, regardless of religious background, citing efforts like constructing boundary walls for temples and fencing for graveyards.
He criticized previous administrations for fostering communal discord.
Moreover, he acknowledged the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the Centre is providing substantial backing for Bihar’s development and called on attendees to applaud the Prime Minister.
The Rs 1,198.86 crore package unveiled on Tuesday includes Rs 53 crore for the reconstruction of Bettiah Maharaja Stadium, Rs 12.45 crore for the Degree College in Madhubani, Rs 77.70 crore for Don Canal Road, Rs 145 crore for Amvaman Power Grid, Rs 73.16 crore for Barwat Sena Pathrighat Road, and Rs 51.54 crore for Lavkush Park in Valmikinagar, along with numerous other infrastructure and welfare initiatives.
