Patna, Jan 17 (NationPress) On the second day of the Samridhi Yatra, Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar arrived in Motihari, located in the East Champaran district, on Saturday. During his visit, he inaugurated and laid the groundwork for multiple significant development initiatives.
The Chief Minister remarked that the Samridhi Yatra (translated as 'Prosperity Journey') was initiated to assess the advancement of development projects and public welfare schemes throughout the state.
“Today, I visited East Champaran and reviewed various development projects and welfare schemes,” stated Nitish Kumar.
He highlighted that in East Champaran, he laid the foundation for 40 projects valued at Rs 34 crore and inaugurated 30 projects worth Rs 138 crore.
“During my visit, I also examined the Centre of Excellence at the Women’s ITI in Motihari and engaged with students. Additionally, I assessed the construction of bridges and the progress of other development projects in Manjuraha village,” the Chief Minister noted.
Nitish Kumar emphasized that he evaluated projects undertaken by various departments in the district, instructing officials to ensure timely and committed completion with sensitivity.
“As part of this journey, I also took part in a community interaction event at Gandhi Maidan in Motihari and addressed the local populace,” he added.
The Chief Minister was joined by Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary, and other prominent leaders.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary remarked that numerous development projects were inaugurated, foundation stones were laid, and progress was assessed as part of the Samridhi Yatra.
“We reviewed livelihood initiatives related to Jeevika, direct benefit transfers to beneficiaries, and various development efforts across the district. Under the NDA government, the foundation for a prosperous future for Bihar is being fortified. Every step of this Samridhi Yatra is devoted to public welfare,” he stated.
Besides engaging in development-related activities, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also visited the Virat Ramayan Temple in Motihari, where he participated in the installation ceremony of the world’s heaviest Shivling.
Earlier that day, the Chief Minister attended a state event in Bakhtiyarpur, located in Patna district, where he paid homage at the statue of prominent freedom fighters.
He honored the statues of the immortal martyr Nathun Singh Yadav, the late Mogal Singh, the late Pandit Sheelbhadra Yaji, the late Kaviraj Ramlakhan Singh ‘Vaidya’, and the late Dumar Singh.
