Patna, March 23 (NationPress) On Monday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the fifth phase of his ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ (Prosperity Journey), which is part of his ongoing statewide initiative aimed at enhancing development and fostering public involvement in Bihar.
During his visit to Jehanabad, the Chief Minister inaugurated 88 developmental projects amounting to Rs 70 crore and laid the groundwork for 73 additional schemes valued at Rs 182 crore.
Speaking at a ‘Jan Samvad’ (Public Dialogue) event held at Gandhi Maidan, he reiterated his administration’s dedication to hastening the district’s progress.
“This journey of development will not cease. The route to prosperity will establish a robust foundation for a ‘Developed Bihar’,” he asserted.
Furthermore, Kumar examined training and production facilities overseen by the Rural Development Department, commended their efforts, visited departmental booths, engaged with beneficiaries, and distributed financial aid.
In Jehanabad, as part of the ‘Samriddhi Yatra’, he also launched a pointed critique of former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Addressing an audience, he remarked, “I reached out to him, yet he could not genuinely integrate with us. When compelled to resign, he merely appointed his wife as the Chief Minister,” referencing the tenure of Rabri Devi.
He further accused the former regime of failing to deliver meaningful development.
By emphasizing the law-and-order scenario of that era, he noted that the situation was so dire that citizens were hesitant to leave their homes post-sunset.
Kumar’s statements have reignited political discussions in Bihar, with the current government scrutinizing the previous RJD administration regarding governance and development matters.
Earlier that day, he also visited Arwal, where he laid the foundation for 22 projects and inaugurated 250 completed initiatives, reinforcing the government’s commitment to grassroots development.
This fifth phase follows the successful execution of four earlier phases of the Samriddhi Yatra.
Prominent leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Ashok Chaudhary, and Pramod Kumar, along with MLCs Kumud Verma and Anil Kumar, and Ghosi MLA Rituraj Kumar, were present during the events in Jehanabad and Arwal.
