Patna, Jan 16 (NationPress) In light of the establishment of the new NDA government in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar officially inaugurated the 'Samriddhi Yatra' on Friday, aimed at assessing the advancement of development initiatives and welfare programs throughout the state.
The journey began in Bettiah, which serves as the district headquarters of West Champaran.
On the inaugural day, CM Kumar laid the groundwork for 125 development projects valued at Rs 153 crore and launched 36 projects worth Rs 29 crore.
An official gathering was held at Ramna Maidan in Bettiah to mark the occasion.
“The aim of this initiative is to expedite development efforts and position Bihar among the most developed states in India, thus enhancing the quality of life for its inhabitants,” the Chief Minister stated in a written announcement.
Providing insights into the day's events, Kumar remarked, “During my stay in West Champaran, I evaluated numerous development initiatives. I established the foundations for 125 projects and inaugurated 36 projects. Furthermore, I visited the Chanpatia industrial area in Kumarbagh and engaged with local entrepreneurs. I instructed officials to offer comprehensive support to business owners and investors. The Chanpatia industrial area is steadily evolving into a robust industrial hub.”
He also indicated that meetings were conducted with district officials to assess the progress of various departmental projects and schemes.
“I urged officials to guarantee the timely and efficient completion of development projects with utmost dedication and sensitivity,” Kumar emphasized.
Following the review session, the Chief Minister took part in a public engagement event at Ramna Maidan in Bettiah, where he interacted with local citizens and officially inaugurated as well as laid foundation stones for multiple projects.
The Samriddhi Yatra was initiated post the NDA's resounding triumph in the Assembly elections held last November.
As a segment of this journey, CM Nitish Kumar intends to travel across all districts of Bihar to evaluate ongoing development projects and welfare schemes and will inaugurate or lay foundations for new initiatives throughout the tour.
