Patna, Sep 25 (NationPress) As the Bihar Assembly elections draw near, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday marked the inauguration and foundation laying of a significant array of development initiatives in Bhagalpur and Khagaria districts, with a total value exceeding Rs 822 crore.
In Bhagalpur, the Chief Minister introduced 59 developmental projects with an estimated cost of around Rs 302 crore, which include various initiatives revealed earlier during his Pragati Yatra.
These projects are designed to enhance infrastructure, elevate public facilities, and improve the standard of living for the local populace.
Nitish Kumar also engaged with beneficiaries of the Social Security Pension Scheme, Jeevika Didis, electricity consumers, and other welfare program participants.
He took the time to address concerns raised by local workers and instructed officials to act swiftly on these issues.
Subsequently, the CM proceeded to Khagaria, where he inaugurated and laid the groundwork for 256 projects valued at approximately Rs 520 crore.
These initiatives, which are also linked to previous Pragati Yatra announcements, focus on essential areas such as rural infrastructure, road connectivity, and public welfare.
During his remarks, CM Nitish Kumar stated, “These initiatives will provide new momentum and direction to development in the region and yield direct benefits to the citizens.”
This rapid tour comes amidst a busy campaign agenda.
On Wednesday, Nitish Kumar visited Kaimur and Rohtas, where he launched projects totaling over Rs 1,911 crore.
At a grand event hosted at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel College in Kaimur district, Nitish Kumar revealed 178 projects worth Rs 980.15 crore for Kaimur district.
Among these, he laid the foundation for 51 projects valued at Rs 854.66 crore, while 127 projects amounting to Rs 125.49 crore were inaugurated.
In Rohtas, CM Nitish Kumar unveiled and laid the groundwork for projects valued at Rs 931 crore at the School Education Project campus, which included electricity, urban development, and canal-path widening initiatives announced earlier during his Pragati Yatra.
He is presently visiting two districts each day, effectively merging governance with election campaigning as the state prepares for the upcoming Assembly elections.
