Patna, Feb 26 (NationPress) The government of Bihar, under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, has sanctioned 146 projects during a Cabinet meeting convened at the Chief Minister's Secretariat on Tuesday.
Ministers from various departments attended this crucial meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Out of the 146 projects, 120 schemes are designated for south Bihar.
The estimated budget for the total of 146 proposals amounts to a substantial ₹30,000 crore.
During the third and fourth phases of Pragati Yatra, Nitish Kumar toured several districts including Patna, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Arwal, Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Rohtas, Kaimur, Buxar, Lakhisarai, Jamui, among others.
Previously, ₹20,000 crore was allocated for 187 schemes in north Bihar during the last cabinet session.
This brings the total investment to ₹50,000 crore, in line with the commitments made during CM Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra.
Following the Cabinet's approval, these proposals will be presented in the forthcoming budget session of the Bihar Assembly, commencing from February 28.
Numerous government departments received budget approvals for vital infrastructure and welfare initiatives.
The predominant share of the proposals pertains to the Rural Works Department, which includes road construction, Jan Jiwan Hariyali, Tola Sampark Yojana, Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal, and various others.
Additionally, other ministries covering education, health, agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, urban development, Public Health Engineering, the Water Resource department, road construction, sports, infrastructure development, and public welfare programs are also involved.
The state cabinet has allocated funds for Buxar for developmental projects, including a new auditorium and Science Bhawan at Magadh Mahila College Patna with an investment of ₹47 crore, as well as a new educational facility in Kaimur.
The government's emphasis on job creation, development of religious sites, and enhancement of public amenities signifies a well-rounded approach to statewide advancement.
The approvals are intended to boost the economy, enhance infrastructure, and promote public welfare in Bihar ahead of the upcoming 2025 Assembly Elections.
