Bihar Government Greenlights 55 Initiatives for State Advancement and Economic Growth

Patna, Jan 10 (NationPress) The Bihar Government has taken a significant step by sanctioning 55 initiatives, which includes 22 projects aligned with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Pragati Yatra, to foster the overall development of the state.

Officials stated that the administration is dedicated to fulfilling the promises made during Chief Minister Nitish's Pragati Yatra, focusing on enhancing infrastructure and economic assistance across various districts.

S Siddhartha, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat, disclosed that funds have been designated for the construction of new facilities in 308 block-zones. A budget of Rs 16.62 crore has been earmarked for the reconstruction of 246 dilapidated block-cum-zonal office buildings, while 62 blocks will receive new complexes with an allocation of Rs 30.74 crore.

Furthermore, the cabinet approved Rs 17.5 crore for a bridge over the Budhi Gandak River at Ibrahimpur Ghat (East Champaran), Rs 73 crore for road expansion and reinforcement between Pathri Ghat and Barwat Sena Path (West Champaran), and Rs 172.76 crore for the widening of Shivhar-Meenapur Path in Shivhar district.

To bolster electricity infrastructure, the cabinet, under CM Nitish, allocated Rs 157 crore for a new grid substation in the Mahua subdivision (Vaishali) along with the establishment of 132 KV transmission lines in Tajpur.

The Cabinet also approved the transfer of 21 acres of land in the Sadar Zone for a parallel taxi track at Patna Airport.

Additionally, a regional passport office in Patna received the cabinet's endorsement.

An allocation of Rs 34 crore was sanctioned for new court buildings and lock-up facilities at the Piro sub-divisional civil court in Bhojpur.

The cabinet approved a rise in sugarcane prices by Rs 10 per quintal, leading to an annual expenditure of Rs 70 crore.

Furthermore, it sanctioned pay scale benefits to Fire Service personnel retroactively from January 21, 2010, aligning with police personnel, and approved Rs 246.23 crore for 60 officer residences along Baily Road, Patna.

The Cabinet also approved the Mouniya Baba Mahavir Jhanda Mela in Siwan and placed it under the management of the Bihar State Mela Authority.
