Nitish Kumar Launches and Initiates Projects Valued at Rs 109 Crore in Siwan

Patna, Jan 7 (NationPress) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched and initiated 127 development projects valued at Rs 109 crore during his visit to the state's Siwan district on Tuesday.
The event was part of the second phase of his Pragati Yatra, an initiative aimed at engaging with the public and reviewing ongoing projects across the state.
The main program took place in Narayanpur village under the Pachrukhi block, where the Chief Minister interacted with the community and provided updates regarding developmental works.
Nitish Kumar examined the Siwan bypass road and visited the Mohammadpur Mor to Chapuia-Gopalpur road. This road, extending 13.8 km, is planned for widening, and the Chief Minister urged the road construction department to accelerate the project.
"After widening, this road will facilitate smooth travel for residents. I have instructed officials to ensure timely completion," Nitish Kumar stated.
The Bihar CM also toured Karhanu village in the Hussainganj block to evaluate a pond that was renovated under the Jan Jivan Hariyali Scheme, which was launched in 2019.
"This scheme is designed to renovate ponds, wells, and other water bodies to improve green cover and foster an eco-friendly environment," the Chief Minister explained.
He directed officials to build stairs along the pond's banks for enhanced usability. Nitish Kumar also visited an Anganwadi centre and a Primary Health Centre in the village to assess their operations.
He reaffirmed that free medicines have been provided in government hospitals since 2006, highlighting the government’s commitment to healthcare accessibility.

The Chief Minister's visit to Siwan showcases the government’s ongoing dedication to achieving balanced development throughout Bihar.
Earlier on Monday, he visited Vaishali district and inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth Rs 276.80 crore, including plans for the largest industrial park proposed in the district.
Nitish Kumar's third phase of Pragati Yatra is set to commence from January 16 to 27.
