Pragati Yatra: CM Nitish Kumar Launches New Initiatives in Samastipur

Patna, Jan 13 (NationPress) Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the district emergency response center located in Ujiyarpur block of Samastipur district on Monday.

He arrived in the district earlier that day as part of the second phase of the Pragati Yatra. During this visit, he is set to inspect several ongoing projects and unveil various infrastructure initiatives. Furthermore, he will conduct a review meeting with district officials to evaluate the progress and current status of these projects.

In conjunction with his Pragati Yatra, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Madhubani district on Sunday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects totaling Rs 1,107 crore.

This visit underscores the government's commitment to infrastructure and development in anticipation of the upcoming state Assembly elections, scheduled for October-November this year.

In contrast to his previous tours, Nitish Kumar has been maintaining a lower profile in traditional media during this journey; however, social media influencers are playing a crucial role in this campaign. They are crafting videos that highlight the development efforts under his leadership, thereby enhancing his image and achievements online, which helps him connect with a wider audience, particularly the youth.

In a notable departure from his earlier approach, the Chief Minister has been actively interacting with the public during his visits. This includes inviting the public—youth, women, and others—for selfies, which are subsequently shared on his official social media channels. This marks a significant transformation in his demeanor, as he previously avoided such interactions during public events. These shifts in approach signify a strategic effort to engage with the electorate in a more personal and relatable manner, leveraging social media and direct public interaction to foster a stronger, more contemporary image ahead of the elections.

Renowned for his meticulous political strategies, CM Nitish Kumar has held a dominant position in state politics for over two decades. His political dexterity has been so impactful that neither Tejashwi Yadav nor Lalu Prasad Yadav, key figures of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), have presented a significant challenge to his leadership during this time.

While he is allied with the BJP, Nitish Kumar's prominence has eclipsed other leaders within the coalition. Even the late Sushil Modi was regarded as his peer but was often perceived as operating in Nitish Kumar's shadow. Beyond Sushil Modi, no other BJP leader in Bihar has emerged to rival Nitish Kumar's influence, further cementing his status as the state’s most significant political figure.
