Patna, Feb 21 (NationPress) On the concluding day of the Pragati Yatra, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made significant announcements for Patna on Friday. With a total of 623 projects either inaugurated or launched, an investment of ₹1,404 crore has been allocated for infrastructure enhancement, road expansion, tourism, and civic amenities.
The plans include the widening and expansion of J.P. Ganga Path extending westward to Veer Kunwar Singh Setu until Koilwar and eastward to Rajendra Setu in Mokama.
Additionally, the upgradation of Nehru Path (Bailey Road) will encompass a new underground drainage system and widening from Rupaspur Canal to Saguna Mor.
He also laid the groundwork for the widening of Danapur-Bihta Road, expansion from Nehru Path to Gola Road, and the Serpentine Drain road from Patel Golambar to Atal Path, which will be transformed into a four-lane road with an underground drainage system.
The Mandiri Nala 4-lane road will connect to J.P. Ganga Path, and the Rupaspur Canal Path will be widened from Khagaul Nehru Path to Ashok Rajpath. The old Ganga Path from Gaighat to Kangan Ghat and Didarganj will also undergo widening.
The Danapur Cantt-Maner-Bihta Road is proposed to be expanded from 2-lanes to 4-lanes, with the Rajiv Nagar Drain and Anandpuri Drain to be paved, incorporating roads built over them.
Nitish Kumar also laid the cornerstone for the development of an integrated park and amenities between Digha and Sabhyata Dwar, along with the renovation of Mangal Talab (Patna City) to enhance facilities for tourists, especially Sikh pilgrims visiting Takth Harimandir Sahib in Patna City, in addition to a multilevel parking facility near Patna Sahib Gurudwara at Kangan Ghat.
The Bihar government has also approached the Centre to construct a new international greenfield airport near Patna.
Furthermore, he laid the foundation for 13 new Block-cum-Anchal office buildings to be established in Naubatpur, Paliganj, Barh, Bihta, Masaurhi, Mokama, Vikram, Dhanrua, Pandarak, Fatuha, Ghoswari, Punpun, and Maner.
These initiatives signify the culmination of the Pragati Yatra, which commenced on December 23, 2024, from West Champaran.
Focusing on road, transport, tourism, and urban development, these projects aim to transform Patna into a modern, well-connected, and developed city.
