Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Launches Pragati Yatra from Valmikinagar, Initiates Development Initiatives in Bihar

Patna, Dec 23 (NationPress) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar officially kicked off the Pragati Yatra from Valmikinagar in West Champaran, Bihar on Monday. This Yatra signifies a pivotal development push in the region.
The Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by Cabinet Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and other party officials upon his arrival, alongside enthusiastic party workers.
During this journey, Nitish Kumar is set to lay the groundwork for several development initiatives valued at Rs 700 crore.
As part of the Energy Department’s on-grid electricity initiative, the Bihar government will electrify remote villages within the Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR) in Bagaha. This scheme aims to provide on-grid electricity to 22 villages located deep within the forests of VTR.
Approximately 70,000 residents, who have been without electricity since Independence, will gain from this project, which has a budget allocation of Rs 139 crore.
This initiative will introduce underground cabling for power supply, a pioneering effort for Bihar. These underground cables will navigate through the dense forests of VTR, ensuring a reliable and sustainable electricity supply to these isolated regions.
The electrification project is projected to be finalized within 18 months, bringing about a significant change in the lives of the local populace.
The implementation of underground electricity cabling demonstrates a progressive strategy toward infrastructure development in ecologically sensitive areas.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Pragati Yatra highlights the state's developmental strides during his two-decade tenure.
To ensure safety and security, around 500 police officers have been mobilized, accompanied by 150 officers and magistrates.
According to the itinerary for the first phase of the Pragati Yatra, Nitish Kumar will remain in West Champaran on December 23. Following an overnight stay in Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve, he will head to East Champaran on December 24. There are no scheduled events on Christmas, December 25. He will then visit Sheohar and Sitamarhi on December 26, followed by Muzaffarpur on December 27, and will conclude with a trip to Vaishali on December 28 before returning to Patna.
