Patna, Dec 10 (NationPress) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a review meeting on Wednesday to evaluate the advancements of the development initiatives declared during the Pragati Yatra.
He urged officials to accelerate the execution of these projects.
The meeting took place in Sankalp Hall, situated within the Chief Minister’s official residence at 1 Anne Marg in Patna.
“Today, at ‘Sankalp’ located at 1 Anne Marg, I reviewed the development plans announced during the Pragati Yatra and directed the concerned officials to expedite their completion,” Kumar stated.
During the session, 430 schemes spanning 22 departments were sanctioned as part of the Pragati Yatra.
“I surveyed development works in all districts during the Pragati Yatra in December 2024 and January–February 2025. Based on feedback from the community during the Yatra and emerging new needs, additional schemes have been approved, with an allocation of Rs 50,000 crore,” he added.
He emphasized that development efforts are being conducted systematically for all areas and demographics.
“I have instructed that the schemes devised for the populace be executed with the highest degree of sensitivity and urgency. Our aim is for Bihar to rank among the most developed states in the nation,” Kumar remarked.
Nitish Kumar, active since the NDA's triumphant assembly election under his leadership, is prioritizing industrialization in the state to fulfill his promise of generating 1 crore jobs.
To support this initiative, the cabinet has sanctioned the establishment of three new departments aimed at streamlining governance and enhancing job-related activities.
Alongside the existing 45 departments, the government introduced the Youth, Employment and Skill Development Department to facilitate comprehensive youth development and expand opportunities for employment and skill enhancement.
The cabinet has also sanctioned the creation of the Civil Aviation Department to bolster aviation infrastructure, improve air connectivity, and generate jobs.
