Patna, July 26 (NationPress) Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan on Saturday delivered a strong rebuke to the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government regarding the worsening law and order situation in the state.
Speaking to the press in Patna, Paswan articulated his dismay over the alarming rise in criminal activities, noting, “I feel sorrowful that I am part of a government where crime is rampant. It is essential to rein it in, or else the fallout will be catastrophic. This is jeopardizing the lives of the people here.”
He accused the authorities of succumbing to criminal elements, stating, “An alarming series of crimes such as murder, rape, gang rape, dacoity, burglary, theft, and eve teasing are occurring one after another in the state. Although some action and arrests have been made, it raises a critical question - why are such incidents happening in Bihar?”
With assembly elections approaching, Paswan recognized the potential for crimes to be staged to tarnish the government's image. Nonetheless, he underscored that it remains the administration’s duty to uphold law and order.
“Even if these crimes are intended to discredit the government, it is the government's obligation to halt them,” he asserted.
In a harsh critique, Paswan stated, “Either the administration is complicit, or it is attempting to obscure these incidents, or it has become entirely ineffectual. The situation is escalating dangerously.”
Calling for immediate action, Paswan urged the state government: “I implore the Bihar government to take action before it is too late.”
