Jaipur, Dec 27 (NationPress) Denouncing the violence directed at Hindus in Bangladesh as “unacceptable”, the successor to the Ajmer Dargah Chief, Syed Naseruddin Chishty, expressed on Saturday that assaults on innocent individuals due to their faith contradict the core principles of Islam, which advocate for peace, humanity, and justice.
Highlighting India’s rising international stature, Chishty remarked that the accolades received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in multiple Muslim nations illustrate the global acknowledgment of India's commitment to coexistence and mutual respect, serving as a source of pride for the entire country.
Chishty emphasized that these honors are not solely personal triumphs for the Prime Minister but signify recognition for the nation as a whole. “Whenever the Prime Minister is honored abroad, it symbolizes respect for the entire country,” he stated.
Characterizing the reports of violence from Bangladesh as profoundly troubling, Chishty asserted that harming innocents and targeting any religious community can never be justified, regardless of the circumstances.
He appealed to the government of Bangladesh, stating that if Islam serves as the nation’s guiding principle, its leadership must manifest this not just in words but also through actions.
“Islam promotes humanity, peace, and justice. Targeting any minority community for any reason is entirely wrong. It is the duty of the government to ensure the safety and security of every citizen, regardless of their religion or community,” Chishty remarked.
He further indicated that Bangladesh was being exploited against India as part of a broader conspiracy, cautioning that such trends could jeopardize peace and brotherhood throughout the region.
In light of these challenges, he urged the Bangladesh government to take decisive action to control the situation and avert escalating violence, thereby upholding peace, justice, and humanity.
Chishty noted that India is a nation grounded in its religious and cultural values, where individuals of various faiths have coexisted harmoniously for centuries.
He added that religious events in India not only foster culture and civilization but also enhance social cohesion, playing a vital role in uniting society and cultivating respect for diverse traditions.
“This Ganga-Jamuni culture has always defined India and continues to fortify social harmony,” he stated.
Chishty expressed optimism regarding India's continuous progress and its growing recognition as a robust and respected nation.
“This demonstrates India's commitment to mutual brotherhood and respect for all religions, which is why the world regards India with admiration,” he concluded.
