Jamshedpur, April 18 (NationPress) Jyoti Kumari, a Community Health Officer (CHO) stationed at the Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Jamshedpur, was viciously assaulted by a group of four to five unidentified individuals at her government residence on Friday morning, as reported by officials.
Currently, she is fighting for her life at the Tata Main Hospital.
According to law enforcement, the attackers arrived at her home, situated within the health center compound in the Ruhidih area under the jurisdiction of the MGM police station, around 9 a.m. on Friday.
They pretended to be individuals in need of medical assistance and requested to see her. When Jyoti Kumari stepped outside, they abruptly launched a brutal attack, striking her multiple times with sharp objects, including a spade and an axe.
She collapsed immediately, losing a significant amount of blood. Her husband, who was inside the house, hurried out after hearing her screams and discovered her lying in a pool of blood.
He quickly notified other family members and transported her to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital. Following initial treatment, she was transferred to Tata Main Hospital due to the critical nature of her injuries.
The assailants escaped the scene, leaving an axe behind. Their identities and the motive for the attack are still unknown.
