“As soon as the police attempted to apprehend him, the suspect opened fire. The police returned fire in self-defense, resulting in a gunshot wound to his leg,” stated the City SP. After being hit, Rajiv collapsed and was taken into custody.
Authorities recovered a country-made pistol, a live cartridge, and a spent bullet shell from the location.
Investigations are ongoing to uncover the identities of his accomplices and to confirm his involvement in other criminal activities.
The encounter caused temporary panic in the vicinity. However, police officials urged residents to stay calm. Security measures have been heightened, and a thorough search operation has been initiated in the surrounding areas. The Patna Police are working diligently to identify and apprehend members of his gang.
Officials confirmed that this operation is part of the ongoing ‘Operation Langda’, which targets armed criminals involved in murder, robbery, extortion, and violations of the Arms Act.
