The suspect, named Vijay Bhoi, subsequently tried to take his own life by cutting his wrist with a blade but survived and is presently receiving medical care.
As reported by Bharat Yogi, an officer at the Hiranmagari police station, the victim has been identified as Nikita Trivedi, the daughter of Omprakash Trivedi, who was a nursing student at a local private college.
Nikita, originally from a village, was living in Hiranmagari with her brother while pursuing her education.
Authorities have found that Nikita and Vijay started their relationship through Instagram and had been dating for a while.
The families of both individuals were aware of their relationship, which raised concerns.
Eventually, after family intervention, Nikita ended her relationship with Vijay and became engaged to another person.
She had completely cut off communication with Vijay after the engagement.
Recently, Nikita returned to Udaipur to finalize her studies.
