New Delhi, Oct 15 (NationPress) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) recently formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) to enhance learning experiences and provide employment support for students.
The signing took place during the inaugural session of the CII International Rail Conference 2025 and the 16th edition of CII Indian Railways Equipment Exhibition at the Bharat Mandapam, where CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee and GSV Professor Manoj Choudhaury represented their institutions. Both parties aim to seek robust support from the industry.
Present at the event was Union Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The CII outlined that the collaboration with GSV will focus on curriculum development, student training, and internship opportunities.
In terms of curriculum development, co-developing modules and case studies that align with industry demands will be prioritized, ensuring students acquire practical and future-proof skills.
Furthermore, student training will encompass guest lectures, workshops, and hands-on training to better prepare students for real-world challenges.
The partnership also aims to facilitate internships, allowing GSV students to gain valuable industry experience.
GSV, recognized as a Central University established by parliamentary act, provides a range of graduate, postgraduate, certification, and sector-specific courses in areas such as railways, transportation, logistics, maritime, aviation, mechanical engineering, electronics, advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and more.
Earlier, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal mentioned that 112 aspirational districts have been mapped under the PM Gati Shakti District Master Plan to promote inclusive growth.
The PM Gati Shakti initiative, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 13, 2021, marks four years of operation, significantly reducing logistics costs and improving service delivery.
According to Goyal, “As many as 112 aspirational districts are now mapped through the PM Gati Shakti District Master Plan to drive inclusive growth and shift away from the fragmented planning of the past, opening up new opportunities for India's Blue Economy and Green Energy.”
The PM Gati Shakti initiative serves as a digital platform for integrated offshore development planning, unifying vital data from various ministries to propel projects in offshore wind, resource exploration, and coastal infrastructure.
