Kolkata, Oct 15 (NationPress) The father of the victim in the Durgapur gang-rape incident expressed on Wednesday that they will soon depart from West Bengal and will never return.

In a conversation with members of the media, the victim's father urged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to guarantee that his daughter receives the justice she deserves.

"May Sonar Bangla (golden Bengal) retain its glory. We are heading to Odisha, and we will not return. I implore Mamata Banerjee to ensure my daughter receives justice," he stated.

Although he did not specify when they would return to Odisha, sources indicated that the family plans to leave for the neighboring state once the victim's health improves.

Authorities have apprehended six individuals related to the gang-rape of the second-year medical student. Among those arrested is the victim's classmate and male friend, who accompanied her off-campus on that tragic night.

The victim's father has consistently accused his daughter's friend since the incident. Following his arrest on Tuesday, the male friend was presented in court on Wednesday, where a judge ordered him to remain in police custody for seven days.
