Of the 347 works, 266 projects worth over Rs 369 crore were formally inaugurated — meaning construction is complete and communities can start using them. The remaining 81 projects, carrying a combined cost of over Rs 122 crore, received their foundation-stone laying, setting the clock running on new construction across the district.

Rajsamand, a district in southern Rajasthan anchored by its marble industry, has long carried significant rural infrastructure gaps. Assistive devices, welfare cheques, and compassionate appointments

Beyond bricks and mortar, CM Sharma distributed a range of direct benefits that put welfare in the hands of individuals rather than files. Specially-abled persons received electronic motorised tricycles, restoring mobility in a way a road inauguration alone cannot. Eligible beneficiaries were handed cheques under various social security schemes, while women members of Rajeevika Self-Help Groups received loan cheques to expand their livelihoods.

Perhaps the most quietly consequential distribution: compassionate appointment letters for individuals orphaned during COVID-19. These letters translate a government promise — that the state will stand in for parents lost to the pandemic — into an actual employment offer. For recipients, it is not a statistic; it is a livelihood.

Rajeevika, the Rajasthan State Rural Livelihoods Mission, has been the backbone of SHG credit linkage in the state, channelling institutional finance to women in villages who would otherwise depend on informal moneylenders. The loan cheques distributed on Sunday extend that reach further into Rajsamand's rural economy.
