Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, 17 July 2026, inaugurated 75 redeveloped railway stations across India under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, including the newly redeveloped Harrwala Railway Station in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has received two Vande Bharat train services, which CM Dhami said are providing improved connectivity for travellers and tourists visiting the state. He also pointed to the Rishikesh–Karnprayag Rail Project, stating that more than 75 per cent of the work on this mountain rail corridor has been completed. On the financial front, CM Dhami stated that the central government has allocated a record Rs 4,769 crore railway budget to Uttarakhand for the current year, with railway projects worth more than Rs 39,491 crore currently under execution across the state.
