During the event's inauguration in Bhubaneswar, CM Majhi declared that Odisha is destined to become the textile epicenter of Eastern India. He also announced the establishment of a dedicated Task Force within the Industries Department, promising investors swift implementation and comprehensive government support.

CM Majhi highlighted the state's ambitious goal of generating over 100,000 jobs in the textiles and apparel sector by 2030, alongside the development of new textile clusters in Balangir, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, and Cuttack.

"ODISHA TEX 2025 is more than just an event; it symbolizes Odisha's readiness to spearhead the textile revolution in Eastern India," stated CM Majhi.

"With state-of-the-art infrastructure, forward-thinking policies, and a skilled workforce, we are cultivating unparalleled opportunities for investors and enhancing livelihoods for our citizens.”

The Chief Minister revealed that a total of 33 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were executed during the event, attracting investment proposals worth ₹7,808 crore.

These investments are anticipated to create employment for approximately 53,300 individuals throughout the state.

"This is not just a summit; it's a strategic move towards establishing Odisha as the textile capital of Eastern India," affirmed CM Majhi.

"The enthusiasm exhibited by investors nationwide and the scale of commitments made here reinforce our vision for a resilient, industry-driven economy."

He further announced that the state government plans to establish five textile parks within the next year to promote regional development, enhance exports, and support skilled employment.

Majhi also revealed that the employment cost subsidies under the Odisha Technical Textile and Apparel Policy 2022 will increase from ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 monthly for male workers and from ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 monthly for female workers.

The Chief Minister also declared that ODISHA TEX will become an annual event, showcasing Odisha’s rich handloom heritage and the state’s venture into the modern textiles, apparel, and technical textiles ecosystem.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ‘Make in India’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ initiatives, CM Majhi urged citizens and government employees to wear Odisha-made garments at least once a week.

"This symbolic act can raise awareness and demand for our local textile products and help revive Odisha’s traditional weaving heritage," he added.

The conclave, which included national and international textile stakeholders, is expected to position Odisha as a leader in India's textile growth narrative.

A statement highlighted that over 160 companies actively participated in the summit, representing the entire spectrum of India’s textile value chain from yarn and fabrics to finished garments and technical textiles.

Two modern Textile and Footwear Parks with plug-and-play facilities for global-standard manufacturing units were inaugurated during the event.

State-of-the-art Workers’ Hostels have been introduced to improve industrial stability. Moreover, the state government signed MoUs for Skill Development, enabling youth, particularly women, to acquire skills in automated garmenting, textile machinery, and wearable technologies.
