Bhopal, Nov 24 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized that the core essence of Indian governance is rooted in local self-governance, with administrative functions commencing at the village level.
The Chief Minister made this statement while inaugurating a workshop titled "Atmanirbhar Panchayat-Samridhh Madhya Pradesh", organized under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (Watershed Development 2.0) in Bhopal.
CM Yadav characterized this workshop as a pivotal movement towards Gram Swaraj, promoting local self-sufficiency and a thriving India by 2047.
While addressing a multitude of delegates from the three-tier panchayat system (village, janpad, and zila), he commended panchayat leaders for crafting strategies that enhance the administrative efficiency, financial stability, and communal self-reliance of panchayats.
"Our nation possesses immense potential in various sectors of trade and business. As opportunities rise, so will our chances for advancement. Development initiatives will persistently prioritize the welfare of the underprivileged, youth, and women," stated the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
He advocated for administrative reforms within panchayat bodies, asserting that the suggestions made by district and block panchayat vice-presidents during school inspections will be documented and acted upon.
CM Yadav reiterated that gram panchayat heads (sarpanches) are now empowered to allocate up to Rs 25 lakh for panchayat initiatives—a significant initial measure, with further actions to come.
Additionally, the Chief Minister urged panchayats to devise master plans to enhance investment prospects and residential development, starting with Vidisha.
"The state government has granted panchayats authority over drinking-water management, and rural development is being fostered through solar pump schemes, which offer up to 90 percent subsidy for farmers acquiring three- to five-horsepower pumps," CM Yadav remarked.
