New Delhi, Nov 24 (NationPress) Tulsi Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Rambhadracharya commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his imminent attendance at the Ram Temple flag-hoisting ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, while also discussing the recent political landscape in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Reflecting on the passing of Dharmendra, the revered seer expressed to IANS that the actor's demise represents a profound loss for Indian cinema.
"May God grant peace to his soul," he offered, extending prayers for the departed.
Regarding the flag-hoisting event on November 25 at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, where PM Modi will be present, Rambhadracharya noted the absence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav.
"If they lacked respect, it is their misfortune; if PM Modi attended, it is his fortune," he commented.
On the recent electoral success of the NDA in Bihar, the seer observed that voters are moving beyond caste-based politics.
"The populace of Bihar has transcended casteism; they understand who deserves their vote," he stated, emphasizing the political maturity reflected in the electoral outcome.
Discussing the political future of Uttar Pradesh, he confidently predicted that the BJP would reclaim power in the 2027 Assembly elections.
"The BJP will secure victory again in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections," he affirmed.
When questioned about Rahul Gandhi's frequent international trips, Rambhadracharya chose not to comment, stating, "I prefer not to discuss anyone's private matters."
However, he strongly criticized the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, advocating for its repeal.
He argued that caste distinctions are not found in ancient scriptures.
"Political leaders have fabricated this issue. In my view, there should be no reservations based on caste," he asserted.
Supporting PM Modi's statement that Congress has devolved into a 'Maoist Muslim League party', he remarked, "The PM is correct in his assessment."
On Sonia Gandhi awarding the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize to former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet—who opposed the abrogation of Article 370—he stated, "She (Sonia Gandhi) is not an Indian. She is the spouse of an Indian leader. I respect her, but I cannot comment as she is not Indian."
