The Chief Minister's Office of Madhya Pradesh announced on Sunday, 26 July 2026 that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited Niwari district to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of development works at a public event held at the district's sports ground.

At the event, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated approximately 44 development works, including a Joint Office Collectorate building constructed at a cost of ₹25.63 crore and a 100-bed District Hospital building built at a cost of ₹19.98 crore. In addition, he laid the foundation stone for approximately 15 more development works valued at around ₹84 crore.

Niwari is Madhya Pradesh's newest district, carved out of Tikamgarh in October 2018 to decentralise governance in the Bundelkhand region.
