Ratlam (MP), Dec 28 (NationPress) In a significant move to uplift farmers as the New Year approaches, Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav transferred Rs 810 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 3.77 lakh soybean farmers under the revitalized Bhavantar Yojana (Price Difference Payment Scheme).
The state-level initiative, conducted in Jaora town of Ratlam district, witnessed Dr Yadav executing a single-click fund transfer, which included Rs 20.74 crore benefiting 12,386 local farmers. To date, the government has disbursed around Rs 1,300 crore to over 6.25 lakh soybean farmers under this scheme, designed to bridge the gap between market prices and the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
CM Yadav referred to the Bhavantar scheme as not merely a program but a testament to the government's profound respect and dedication to the prosperity of farmers. He asserted that this payment is the rightful entitlement of farmers and reiterated the state’s steadfast commitment to their welfare.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister declared that 2026 will be devoted entirely to farmer welfare — the “annadatas” (providers of food).
A grand agricultural festival is planned for next year to honor farmers’ contributions, alongside initiatives to implement modern farming techniques, agricultural extension services, and innovative technologies in every village. This aims to equip farmers with timely, informed decisions to boost productivity.
Additionally, Dr Yadav highlighted broader welfare measures: the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana's monthly aid, currently Rs 1,500, will rise to Rs 3,000; there will be job opportunities for skilled youth; subsidized solar pumps (up to 90 percent) for over 32 lakh farmers; and promotion of animal husbandry and dairy farming.
On the development front, the CM inaugurated 12 projects worth over Rs 18 crore and laid foundation stones for 21 others valued at Rs 127 crore in Ratlam, with a total exceeding Rs 145 crore. These projects include civic amenities aimed at making the district “beautiful, clean, and advanced.”
Responding to local requests, he announced a modern indoor-outdoor stadium in Jaora, a one-stop center for destitute women, Rs 2 crore each for a heritage building and school renovations, along with new girls' hostels in Shujapur and Piploda.
Dr Yadav acknowledged Ratlam's benefits from the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river-linking project and a new Rs 5,000 crore four-lane highway in the Malwa region, promising enhanced land compensation if necessary.
Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and Agriculture Minister Aidal Singh Kanshana commended the government’s farmer-centric policies under PM Narendra Modi's guidance. The event included an agricultural exhibition, flower showers welcoming farmers, and the launch of a booklet honoring former BJP MP Dr Laxminarayan Pandey.
