Cuddalore, July 15 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has inaugurated the ambitious 'Ungaludan Stalin (With You, Stalin)' initiative in Chidambaram, located in Cuddalore district on Tuesday. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide a vast array of government services directly to the homes of citizens, particularly those requiring immediate assistance or resolution.
The initiative commenced with the Chief Minister launching a special grievance redressal camp, which is part of a statewide effort featuring over 10,000 such camps—3,768 in urban locales and 6,232 in rural areas.
Running until November, this scheme aims to encompass all districts and panchayats throughout Tamil Nadu.
To promote the program, more than one lakh trained volunteers proactively visited homes across the state to distribute informational materials, gather grievances, and inform residents about the services and dates available at the camps.
These camps will provide services from 13 departments in urban settings and 15 departments in rural regions, covering a total of 43 and 46 types of services, respectively. Citizens can apply for various welfare programs, land records, caste and income certificates, amendments to official documents, old age pensions, and more.
According to Revenue Secretary P. Amudha, all applications submitted through these camps will be resolved within 45 days. Should citizens be dissatisfied with the outcome or if their application is denied, they will have the opportunity to reapply or request further clarification.
To facilitate effective execution and oversight, four senior IAS officers—J. Radhakrishnan, Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Dheeraj Kumar, and P. Amudha—have been designated as official spokespersons and supervisory authorities.
In Chennai alone, 400 camps are scheduled across 200 wards, while in Coimbatore, the initiative is being rolled out in four phases with 334 camps. Likewise, the Nilgiris district will host 146 camps across three phases.
The launch event in Chidambaram was conducted under stringent security measures and witnessed a turnout of thousands, including party supporters.
During the inaugural ceremony, CM Stalin also paid respects with floral tributes at the memorials of K. Kamaraj and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
While the government touts the scheme as a transformative model for citizen services, opposition parties, including the BJP’s Tamilisai Soundararajan, have denounced it as a political maneuver ahead of the 2026 elections.
