Chennai, Nov 9 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is set to undertake a one-day journey to Pudukkottai and Tiruchi districts on Monday, during which he will inaugurate and lay the groundwork for numerous welfare projects and social infrastructure initiatives focused on enhancing public amenities and care services.
As per an official announcement, CM Stalin's visit will commence in the Pudukkottai district in the morning, where he is expected to lay the foundation stone for several significant projects valued at approximately Rs 767 crore.
The ceremony will take place at Mookambigai College of Engineering in Keeranur, where he will also inaugurate a variety of completed developmental works executed under various State schemes.
These initiatives are anticipated to improve connectivity, public infrastructure, and service delivery throughout the region.
In the afternoon, the Chief Minister will head to Tiruchi district to inaugurate an "Anbu Solai", a contemporary day-care center for senior citizens, designed to foster physical, emotional, and social well-being.
This center, which offers recreational activities, yoga, and library services, also provides nutritious meals, snacks, and physiotherapy sessions conducted by qualified professionals.
The Anbu Solai initiative, introduced by the State government as part of its elderly welfare mission, has been steadily gaining traction across Tamil Nadu.
Currently, each of the ten municipal corporations—including Coimbatore, Dindigul, Erode, Madurai, Salem, Thanjavur, Thoothukudi, Tiruchi, Tiruppur, and Vellore—hosts two such centers.
Industrial hubs like Ranipet and Krishnagiri have one center each. Within the limits of the Greater Chennai Corporation, three Anbu Solai centers are already operational in Sholinganallur, Tondiarpet, and Virugambakkam.
Officials noted that the initiative aims to offer dignified daytime engagement for seniors, many of whom live independently or face mobility challenges.
With the inauguration of the Tiruchi facility, the government plans to expand similar centers to all major towns and municipalities in the coming year.
