Shimla, June 18 (NationPress) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu visited the Government Senior Secondary School in Baga Sarahan, located in the heart of the Nirmand subdivision in Kullu district, on Wednesday. He encouraged students to establish ambitious goals and work diligently to transform their aspirations into achievements.
During his address, Chief Minister Sukhu urged students to enhance their general knowledge and envision their future plans, motivating them to pursue their dreams with commitment and hard work.
He highlighted the importance of adopting noble values and principles in life.
In discussions with teachers, Chief Minister Sukhu stressed the necessity of offering practical knowledge alongside the standard curriculum and emphasized the need to equip students with competitive general knowledge.
He also gathered feedback from educators regarding their challenges, asserting that the dilapidated school building housing classes from pre-nursery to Class VIII should be replaced with a modern facility.
Earlier, the Chief Minister met local residents at the Public Works Department Rest House in Baga Sarahan, where he listened to their concerns and instructed officials to address these issues.
At the 'Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar' initiative, Chief Minister Sukhu explained that these gatherings are designed to connect with rural populations and tackle their problems closer to home, thus saving them time and resources.
“We have decided to conduct 'Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar' events throughout the state, reaching the most remote areas, with every minister facilitating such meetings in their constituencies, especially in villages. The goal is to ensure the welfare of the public,” Chief Minister Sukhu stated.
He emphasized his commitment to stay overnight in remote villages during these events, noting that the first 'Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar' program took place in the isolated Dodra Kwar in Shimla district, followed by Kupvi, another secluded village.
A similar initiative was conducted in Sharchi in Kullu district, which allowed him to gain insights into the daily challenges faced by locals. He mentioned that those residing in remote regions are particularly benefiting from this government initiative.
Chief Minister Sukhu urged the youth to fully utilize the self-employment opportunities provided by the government and to steer clear of social issues like drug addiction.
He concluded the visit by paying respects to the local deity and praying for the peace and prosperity of the state’s residents.
