Jaipur, April 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, is scheduled to visit Guhata village in the Indragarh tehsil of Bundi district tomorrow to evaluate the progress of the Chambal Aqueduct construction. This project is being executed under the auspices of the Rajasthan Water Grid Corporation Limited, as per government officials’ announcements on Tuesday.
The state government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, is steadfast in its commitment to the effective execution of the 'Ram Jal Setu Link Project', which is a pivotal initiative aimed at transforming Eastern Rajasthan.
Officials further emphasized, “The advancement of this monumental project, which is anticipated to benefit 17 districts within the state, is being meticulously monitored on an ongoing basis.”
The Chambal Aqueduct plays a vital role in the revamped Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project.
This essential infrastructure will link Piplada Samel village in the Digod tehsil of Kota district to Guhata village in Bundi district.
Stretching approximately 2,280 metres across the Chambal river, the aqueduct is currently under construction and is being executed with a sense of urgency to ensure its timely completion.
Besides facilitating water transfer, this aqueduct will also function as a pathway for public access, thereby enhancing local connectivity.
The revised Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project has been designed by broadening the objectives of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP).
The Ramjal Setu Link Project, an updated version of the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking project, aspires to guarantee a steady drinking water supply to a wide range of regions across the state.
In its initial phase, the project aims to deliver drinking water to around 3.25 crore people across 17 districts.
Additionally, it will secure water for agricultural and industrial uses, thereby significantly bolstering the region's water security.
This groundbreaking initiative is poised to play a crucial role in fostering the socio-economic development of the state by elevating agricultural productivity, supporting industries, and enhancing the quality of life for millions of residents.
