Jaipur, April 8 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, made a visit to Guhata village in the Indragarh tehsil of Bundi district on Wednesday to assess the progress of the Chambal Aqueduct, which is part of the Ram Jal Setu Link Project.
Referring to the initiative as one of the most significant projects undertaken by the state government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Chief Minister emphasized that it will provide sufficient water for drinking and agricultural needs across 17 districts in eastern Rajasthan.
In a post on his official social media account, Chief Minister Sharma remarked: "During my visit to Guhata village in Bundi district, I participated in the ceremonial worship of the piers of the grand aqueduct being constructed over the Chambal River under the 'Ram Jal Setu Link Project.' I also had the opportunity to view an exhibition showcasing the project's advancements. On this occasion, we planted trees to promote environmental conservation. This aqueduct, stretching 2280 meters in length and rising to 36 meters in height, is set to enhance irrigation for farmers and improve drinking water accessibility for the public. Additionally, the 7-meter-wide path being built atop it will facilitate safer, quicker travel between Kota and Delhi.

Approximately 40 percent of the state's inhabitants are projected to gain from this initiative.
The Chief Minister instructed state officials to uphold high-quality construction standards and ensure the timely completion of all tasks.
Emphasizing the Chambal Aqueduct's role as a crucial element of the project, he urged government officials to carry out regular monitoring of construction activities.
During the inspection, officials informed Chief Minister Sharma that the aqueduct is being built across the Chambal River, linking Pipalda Samel village in Kota district and Guhata village in Bundi district, covering a total length of 2,280 meters.
The structure will be supported by 5,060 piles and 77 pile caps, comprising nearly 384 circular piers.
This aqueduct will promote water movement across the Chambal River, ensuring efficient river crossings.
It will also offer a route for vehicular traffic, benefiting the general populace.
During the event, the Chief Minister performed a puja for an aqueduct pier and explored an exhibition highlighting various facets of the Ram Jal Setu Link Project.
Earlier, he conveyed a commitment to environmental conservation by planting a sapling.
Present at the visit were Rajasthan Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat, Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Hiralal Nagar, Additional Chief Secretary (Water Resources) Abhay Kumar, and various officials associated with the project.
