Varanasi/Bhopal, Dec 15 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, paid his respects at the Kashi Vishwanath and Kal Bhairava temples during his trip to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

After his prayers, CM Yadav spoke to reporters outside the temple area, expressing that he senses a profound divine energy every time he visits this sacred site, Kashi Vishwanath.

He remarked that Varanasi has seen significant progress under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Banaras has undergone remarkable transformation in recent years. We owe this to PM Modi, whose leadership has infused new vitality into Banaras," said Mohan Yadav.

This visit came just two days after he marked his two-year tenure as Chief Minister. Yadav mentioned that he hails from Ujjain, known as the city of Lord Mahakal, and appreciates the significance of Kashi Vishwanath, which he regards as heavenly.

Later, CM Yadav visited the home of Uttar Pradesh Minister Girish Chandra Yadav in Jaunpur district to pay his respects to the minister's late father. "I visited the residence of Shri Girish Chandra Yadav Ji, who is the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Sports and Youth Welfare in the Uttar Pradesh government, to offer floral tributes to his father. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant peace to his noble soul," he posted on X.

On Sunday night, Mohan Yadav was in New Delhi for a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during which he invited Shah to Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior for the unveiling of a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary, December 25.

In addition to Gwalior, a life-size statue will also be inaugurated in Rewa during Home Minister Amit Shah's visit.

Recently, CM Mohan Yadav announced that the state government will perform ‘bhoomi pujan’ and launch development projects worth over Rs two lakh crore to commemorate the centenary of the late former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on December 25.
