CM Mohan Yadav visits Nijanand Dham Ashram on Raksha Bandhan, urges welfare spirit
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday, 28 August visited Sant Shri Nijanand Dham Ashram at Chirola Fanta in Khachrod, Ujjain, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, and called on citizens to draw inspiration from the teachings of saints to serve society and embrace the ideal of universal well-being. The visit coincided with the death anniversary of Shri Shri 1008 Sachidanand Maharaj, at whose memorial Yadav offered prayers and floral tributes.
What the Chief Minister Said
'Visiting Sant Shri Nijanand Ashram and worshipping here was a profound experience. This place reflects the divine aura of great saints who have enriched the spiritual and cultural tradition of the country, Madhya Pradesh and the Malwa region,' Yadav said during the visit.
He invoked the Vedic verse 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah' — broadly meaning 'may all be happy, may all be free from illness' — urging citizens to uphold this spirit of collective welfare alongside their daily responsibilities. He credited Swami Sachidanand Ji Maharaj, successor to Sant Shri Nijanand Ji Maharaj, with infusing the ashram with spiritual consciousness that has shaped the wider region.
Rituals and Ceremonies at the Ashram
During the visit, Yadav performed Rudrabhishek and Shodashopchar worship at the Shiva temple within the ashram premises. He also offered prayers and Aarti at the Gadi of Sant Shri Nijanand Ji Maharaj, paid obeisance to saints present at the ashram, and partook of Prasadi. The Shri Nijanand Dham Seva Samiti formally welcomed and felicitated him. He also met Vivek Maharaj Ji, a disciple of Sachidanand Ji Maharaj.
