Lucknow, Oct 23 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has instructed the reorganization of the fire-fighting department and mandated the establishment of fire stations every 100 kilometers along expressways.
“Guarantee the rapid availability of fire and emergency services in every district. On expressways, a compact fire station, complete with a fire tender, should be set up at every 100-kilometer interval to facilitate timely relief and rescue operations within the crucial golden hour following an accident,” stated the CM during a meeting with officials.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on X, Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized that the fire service is integral to the safety of the public’s life and property.
He advocated for a departmental structure capable of delivering a swift, efficient, and responsive reaction in all situations.
“The reorganization of the department should proceed in a timely manner, ensuring the public can benefit promptly,” he remarked.
Given the rising population, industrial growth, and rapid urbanization in the state, CM Adityanath highlighted that it is essential to enhance the Fire Department’s structure to be more resilient, modern, and attuned to public safety needs.
“The Fire Service should evolve beyond mere firefighting, transforming into an integrated entity that encompasses disaster management, rescue operations, and emergency services,” he stated.
To bolster the department's administrative capabilities and financial transparency, an Accounts Cadre should be formed in each district, with additional positions being created at the State Fire Service Training College to enhance training and research quality, he added in the post on X.
The CM’s Office announced, “Following CM Yogi Adityanath’s directives, plans are underway to create 98 new posts in the gazetted cadre and approximately 922 new posts in the non-gazetted cadre within the department.”
“This initiative will enhance the efficiency and public service capacity of the fire service at district, regional, and headquarters levels,” the CMO stated.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that adequate manpower for firefighting services has already been deployed at new operational units at airports in Kushinagar, Azamgarh, Shravasti, Kanpur Nagar, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Sonbhadra, according to the statement.
