Patna, Oct 23 (NationPress) As the Bihar Assembly elections unfold, BJP National President JP Nadda sharply criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, alleging that they allowed Bihar to descend into a “jungle raj” during their tenure.
During an election rally at Haspura Badi Field in the Goh Assembly constituency of Aurangabad district, Nadda raised questions about the RJD’s choice to nominate Osama Shahab, the son of the late Siwan strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin.
“There was a time when Shahabuddin assaulted a Superintendent of Police in broad daylight, and now Lalu is endorsing his son. This clearly indicates their intent to resurrect the jungle raj in Bihar,” Nadda remarked.
Reflecting on his experiences in Patna over two decades, Nadda recounted the lawlessness prevalent during the RJD rule.
“I witnessed incidents where an IAS officer’s wife was victimized, and a District Magistrate was slain publicly. Kidnappings, thefts, and assaults on women were rampant. Many professionals, including doctors and engineers, were compelled to leave,” he stated.
Nadda also took a jab at Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader, suggesting that while he discusses migration, he should remember the era when his parents' governance drove people away from the state.
“Under Lalu-Rabri’s administration, citizens feared to venture out after 3 p.m. If Bihar wishes to avoid a return to that time, it must unite with the NDA,” Nadda emphasized.
His comments came on a day when the Grand Alliance officially nominated Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Bihar Assembly election in 2025.
Previously, Tejashwi Yadav had assured that “if anyone commits a crime, I will take appropriate action in my administration.”
