Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 5 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has vehemently criticized the Nitish government regarding the deteriorating law and order conditions, which led to strong rebuttals from the ruling party.
During the assembly session, Tejashwi Yadav, who is also the national working president of RJD, claimed that the Bihar government is plagued by two major issues: “false accolades” and “utter negligence”.
He raised serious concerns about the law-and-order situation, stating, “The anguish of our daughters does not seem to awaken this government. Where is the rule of law? BJP members have transformed democracy into a culture of violence.”
In response, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha launched a fierce counterattack, questioning, “Who is the prince of jungle raj? The entire state and the nation are aware of this. Those who have stolen fodder meant for animals should refrain from lecturing others.”
He emphasized that the NDA government, steered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is building a prosperous Bihar.
Further criticizing the opposition, he remarked, “We are well aware of your past. If someone cannot respect the women in their own family, how can they honor the women of Bihar?”
Sinha also referred to the chaotic past before the NDA government took charge, asserting that “Jungle Raj was synonymous with chaos. The NDA has effectively eliminated such violence, and the people of Bihar have rejected you, ending your reign.”
Meanwhile, during the Motion of Thanks on the Governor's address, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar showcased a lighter side, resulting in an unexpected moment of humor across party lines.
When the Chief Minister discussed the establishment of a new Education City in Bihar, Tejashwi interrupted, asking about its current location. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary clarified that the Education City is yet to be constructed and will be built in the future.
In a humorous exchange, Nitish Kumar remarked, “Hey, listen first... you’re just a kid. I am from your father’s generation... sit down, sit down... don’t cause a stir.” Following this, Tejashwi chuckled and returned to his seat, inciting laughter among both the treasury and opposition MLAs.
