Patna, Feb 19 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has ramped up his criticism of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government, claiming a notable decline in the law and order situation within the state.

In a recent post on the social media platform X, Tejashwi, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, remarked: "A series of criminal incidents have taken place in the state since January 2025 under the NDA government's 'Rakshasa Raj' (demonic rule)."

On the same day, he shared a post along with an animated image on his X profile, stating, "The government is in a state of denial. Bloodshed in Bihar!"

He highlighted a total of 137 incidents, including murders, shootings, and assaults, occurring in various districts such as Bhojpur, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Supaul, Saharsa, Rohtas, Kaimur, and Vaishali.

This post follows an encounter in the Kankarbagh area of Patna on Tuesday that resulted in the arrest of three suspects.

Tejashwi detailed the crime incidents in Hindi: "A youth was shot dead in Darbhanga, a police officer was killed in the Bhabhua police station area of Kaimur, there was a double murder in Sasaram, the killing of a young man and woman occurred, criminals shot two individuals in Bhojpur resulting in two deaths, a young man was murdered with a sharp weapon in Vaishali, an elderly man was shot dead in Muzaffarpur, an innocent child was murdered in Rohtas, a young man was beaten to death in Bettiah, a shopkeeper was shot dead in Ara, and an electrician was gunned down in East Champaran."

In 2021, the state recorded 3,336 cases related to land disputes—the highest in the nation—and noted 2,799 murder cases, ranking second only to Uttar Pradesh.

Bihar also reported the highest number of attacks on police and government officials, with 150 incidents.

In response to these claims, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has consistently defended his administration by drawing comparisons to the situation prior to 2005.

He stated, "The condition that existed in the state until 2005 is well known. People used to fear stepping outside their homes in the evening. Nowadays, individuals freely walk around even late at night."

Despite the Chief Minister's reassurances, Tejashwi persists in questioning the administration's assertions, frequently releasing "crime bulletins".
